DiXiE cARe & SHarE

For Family Home Evening on Monday night we had the opportunity of collecting cans of food for Dixie Care and Share. It was really fun and we had a good turn out. We all brought cans of our own and then we went around to some houses and collected what we could from them. We actually got quite a few cans! After we had bugged enough people, we delivered the cans! It felt so good to share with those less fortunate and it put all of us in the Thanksgiving spirit! Enjoy the pictures...

The SNOW CANYON HALF MARATHON

We have trained Long and Hard for this Event....the emotions were running high. Through the up hill runs and the early morning weight training, we were able to increase a mile every week. At first, Sarah broke down and didn't think that she could make it. Over many tears and lots of encouragement from her 'Team Mates' she was able to pull it together and come out on top!

On 11/8/08, the day finally came of showing off our skills.....

POURING GATORADE and WATER!!!!

Did you ALL Actually think that we Ran the Marathon.....COME ON!!

At the Hospital, Sarah and I work with Julie, she is one of the HUC's. She always helps with the Water/ Gatorade Stands at the Marathons that take place here in St. George. She asked me if I would help out at this Marathon. I said 'I Would' then I asked Britt and Sarah to come along and help. It was a early morning, we left our home at 7:00 am, and headed up to Snow Canyon. We all hopped in the Linc (nickname of the Lincoln) we turned up the Radio, and sang away to the Tunes. Once we got to the top of the Hill, that Starting Line, our Team Leader Julie was there to met us.......Thats her

It was a 50 degree weather morning, and Julie was out in her Bright Pink Shorts...CRAZY!! All three of us were bundled in like 3 long sleeve shirts, pants and wishing we had Hot Chocolate. She said she had on her 'Thick Socks' so she would be fine

I even had on my Tube Socks on with my boots, and my toes were still getting chilled.

...ANYWAYS...

As we were mixing the Concentrated Extreme Gatorade with water, one of the Park Rangers came up to us and asked if we knew how to set up a Speaker System, well here are his exact words...
"So have any of you set up a Speaker System before? Even if you haven't I need to leave so figure it out Please."
So we basically had no choice to do this. They needed it to so that they could use the Microphone to inform the runners of the start time and etc. We had no idea how to do it, but we put our best foot forward, and conquered! We aren't only the Best Water Girls, but we know our Electronics! The Generator quit a couple times, but give it a couple kicks to the front of it, and it worked Great...Just Jokin!

The Race was almost getting ready to start, so we followed Julie in her MiniVan to our Water Stand. The Man in charge came in his truck and said that they needed more girls to take care of the stand at the top of the hill. So Britt and Sarah volunteered, leaving Julie and I to ran the stand at the bottom of the hill. The race started, and we were already filling up the cups , which wasn't going to bad, until I saw the first two runners coming around the corner... they were quick. I knew we were screwed! There was no was way that we had enough drinks set up for the other runners after them. So I started to pour like Mad Man...gatorade and water going everywhere...I got some on my Boots :-( Good thing I had cleaner!!

Meanwhile, Britt and Sarah were Champs up at the top... they were prepared for the Worst! They even had time to snap a couple of photos........

Look at the Pretty Scenery......

Before the race started, Brittany was getting ready to take off on one of the Rangers Bike.

"THE WATER GIRLS"....we got Cool shirts

Before we started 'Our Duties' we found this random Golf Cart and decided we couldn't pass up the perfect photo opportunity....ENJOY!

....Just Chillin in the Golf Cart...

HOLD ON GIRLS

I guess I didn't see the BUMP...Sorry Britt good thing you had a hold grab bar

WELL....

Well that concludes Our Very First Marathon Experience. We are hoping to help in some more up coming events. Julie said we were good help, and FUN to be around and made it all work out.

WHO KNOWS....MAYBE ON OF THESE TIMES WE'LL ACTUALLY RUN ONE! psshhhhh

ViLLaGe InN

so...
Us chickidas in 504 have now adopted the Village Inn as our mascot. We have had many adventures. To name a few: Brayden, chicken fingers, skillet potatoes, Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke, Strawberry Crepes, Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich, refills (many), our lucky booth, and a lot of old people! Every time we visit the Village, we are the only people under the age of 65 present. I gotta be honest with ya...I'm not gonna lie, it's true. Now to explain the Brayden part of the story, I have to tell a little story. The first time we ate at the Village, our waiter's name was Brayden. He loved us, to say the least. We were four young girls and really the only young people he had seen in days. He kept our table stocked with DP and DC all night. He sent us home with to-go cups, and just basically treated us like royalty. We loved him so much that we tipped him 20% instead of the usual 15%. Every time we have gone back, we have requested old Brayden to wait our table and we have never been disappointed. Keep up the GREAT Work Brayden...

hMM...what do I want???

Our Village Inn adventures will not stop here. We plan on taking this tradition to the next level!

After the Show...heading back to the HomeStead...

So as we were getting out of the car, all our hands were full hauling in the props from the talent show. I was in charge of getting the Radio. Britt and I together (before the talent show) hauled out the radio from the house to the car, but getting the radio from the car to the house...it was just me. As I was walking across the lawn, I felt the cord wrapping around my ankles...I thought 'Oh Shoot...this could be bad'. I made it to the stairs outside the house and as Britt was holding the door open for me, she started to laugh because I was a bit tipsy so she snapped a photo! Then as I got into the house and was heading up toBritt's room, my hood off my shirt caught a Random nail sticking out of the wall....one little snag and I was Stuck! So we snapped a photo of that also...enjoy the close up! The Radio made it back to its space safely...

HOLD ON LOU.... You are almost there!

Heading up the stairs.....DANG NAIL

FUNNY HUH?!

DSC 4th WaRd AnNual TALENT SHOW

On Wednesday 11/5/2008--- The Dixie State College Ward held their first Annual Talent Show! We had GREAT acts at the beginning...but the Climax of the show was when SPICE GIRLS came!! All Five Of Us Were There--- SCARY SPICE (Chauntae W.); BABY SPICE (Amy G.); POSH SPICE (BRITTANY); GINGER SPICE (LINDSEY) and SPORTY SPICE (Stephanie B.) We did a little Lip Sync to ''Wanna be my Lover'. We all got our outfits coordinated with the characters of the Real Spice Girls...well kinda!!! I needed to have Red hair...and Britt needed a A-Line haircut...but it was super fun, and everyone in the crowd was cheering us on, and we even got a Standing Applause!! Watch the Video... Britt and I both felt like dirty Skanks...but the part needed to be played and what do ya do! We were both worried about our skirts riddin' up so we both had a little Tuggin Action going on! I whipped out the REAL singing towards the end of the performance.........It SPICED things up a bit! After we changed back into our clothes and went back into the gym, no one could help but laugh and say 'Great Job Girls'.

MEANWHILE......
Sarah and Candace had a tough act to follow......but thy brought the Spirit back were it needed to be!! They played a Piano Duet....they did very well.

So Lindsey and Sarah's friends (Alex and Scott) came into town from Rigby, ID... T.J. was here also visiting for the weekend, so we all decided that we were goin to go on a BiG Ole group date that night. Greg and Kristin joined us also. We first all went to dinner at Applebees! After enjoying our dinner, we went to play Glow in the dark Miniture golf. We had a really good time. Britt and T.J. snapped some pretty cool pictures all throughout the course. Here they are....EnJoY

I got my first letter from T.J. yesterday! He left on his mission on Oct 22nd and I have been wondering what was going on with that boy because I hadn't gotten a letter yet, but he actually has written 3 so far, the first one on the 25th, so something with the mail was messed up! That made me feel lots better! :) He is doing wonderful! He is a district leader at the MTC and he loves it. He is learning Spanish and will get to Paraguay just a couple days before Christmas! He is excited to join Jaron in the mission field. I'll keep you updated!

just a little bit of FlaG fOoTBaLL

So last Thursday night, while Britt and I were just chillin on the couch-- I received a text message from my good ole friend Big Jake. He informed us of a Flag Football game that he was participating in later that evening. After contemplating on what our plans were for the night...we decided to go. We were already dressed down for the evening in our LUCKY Sweats...Britt threw on my GoLd Medal, while I wore my Red Boots (the above picture)!!!! Dylan, Mariesa and Lindsey H, A.J. and Telia were there also to cheer on Jake. Even though they lost both games, we were the number 1 supporters!

On Oct. 29, Lindsey and I dressed like twins (all black with yellow bags) and went to THRILLER at the Tuachan. It was AMAZING! We went with my Aunt Renee and Lacey. Let's just say that we both want to become dancers now. Yeah...don't think that will happen, but it's a dream. As you can see from the pictures, people dressed up as dead dancers followed us around and got up in our grills and just stared! We were freaking out! We got in our seats the second the show started and from there it was a party. We were dancing and singing right along with the MJ. If you have a chance to see it, we both recommend it!

Here is just a Video....Britt and I were just messin around with one of our New Favorite Songs... 'HOT n COLD'...Britt was recording...I'll work on it!!

HaLLowEEn

This Halloween was an interesting one! As you can see from the pictures we ha
d a fun time dressing up! We went to a party for about a half hour then we decided to take a road trip to VEGAS! To say the least, this trip was super exciting! Heidi, our cousin, needed to be picked up from the airport. SO...being the great people we are, we said yes to the request and turned it into a late night Halloween road trip. Here is a little sum up of our trip...We almost got killed by a semi-no joke, we got stuck in traffic at 1100 at night because of an accident, we waited at the airport for an hour because some flights got delayed, we ran into some hookers in the Vegas Airport bathroom (It was halloween you know), we forgot where we parked :), we had issues getting back onto the freeway, once we finally got back on we accidentally took a random exit and had to find our way to the freeway AGAIN! Other than that it was smooth sailing! We got home at 4 the next morning and all vowed that we would never do that again! Enjoy the pics!!!
